Adorable Lamb Chop is making great progress toward walking. Her Neurologist, Dr. King put together a temporary quad walker for her to use while we are waiting for her Quad-Cart to come in. The cart is designed to help her build up her leg muscles and get her coordination back. He made lots of adjustments over the original one made last week. Lamb Chop appears to be finally getting the hang of it when pieces of food are left on the floor for her to find.
We have done extensive rehab all this week to get her to use her legs. Every day she gets stronger and stronger. Dr. King still does not want to adjust her apparatus since each day she is showing improvement. If weeks go by and there is no change, he will then increase the amount of fluid that is coming off each day.
Lamb Chop will be leaving Charleston Tuesday going to Columbia for extensive rehab. She will remain there until she starts to walk on her own. During the day, she will be getting physical therapy and during the night, she will go home with the Therapist to continue her progress. In other words, she will be spoiled rotten. Her new Quad Cart for her therapy should arrive in two weeks. In the meantime, Dr. King's invention is perfect. Be sure and watch the video on her main web page walking in the cart. Thanks for caring and being part of her Journey to Walk.
