This adorable 8 month old boxer mix was picked up by a good samaritan on the side of the road in Greenville, SC.  Bessie is terribly emaciated and is missing half of her rear right leg.  She is very anemic and desperately needs a transfusion and fluids.  The person that originally picked her up took her to three vets trying to get some help for this sweet pup.  No one would help her with Bessie.  On her final attempt, she went outside and burst into tears with Bessie in her lap.  Another good Samaritan came along when she was leaving the vet and offered to see what she could do.  We were contacted and had her transported to out vet.  It always amazes me how someone that is in the medical profession could turn their back on a desperate animal in need.  It was very obvious this little dog had something horrible happen to her and she would die without immediate medical care.  Thank the Lord for the two people that stepped up for her when no one else would.  Bessie is being treated for severe anemia and will be getting a transfusion.  Once she is stable enough and we have her infection under control, her leg will be amputated.  We do not have any idea what happened to this young pup and do not even want to speculate.  All we do know is that she needs us and we need you to help take care of her so she can live a long and happy life.  She is a sweet, loving dog that is too young to be living the life she has led up until now.

Bessie is doing great.  She has had her leg removed and is running around like she was always three-legged.  She is a wonderful dog.

Bessie has been adopted into an incredible home.  She is being spoiled rotten and is acting like nothing has ever happened to her.  She is in a family that has other dogs and they all are getting along wonderfully.
