Well, it looks like our dear Butterscotch is finally beginning to show us what her true coloring is.  She appears to be coming in really dark with some tan markings.   We still believe she is a Shepherd Mix.  Her skin has finally begun the healing process.  It takes about a month for the skin irritation to stop creating havoc with her body and then the healing begins.  We are also using  Laser to help with her skin issues, and it appears to be working.  She is finally starting to show real hair growing all over her body.   The best news of all is that sweet Butterscotch is learning to trust everyone and will now come up to you and give kisses.  This may not seem like much, but it is tremendous given how scared she was in the beginning.   When she goes outside, she is learning to trust the person that is taking her out.  She no longer is looking for cover and a place to hide, like she was in the beginning.   She is starting to trust that we are going to keep her safe and that she does not have to worry about ever being hurt again.

Butterscotch gets Training every day to learn basic commands and to learn how to walk properly on a leash.  I don't think she had ever been on a leash prior to us rescuing her and was more like a bucking bronco than a dog going for a stroll.  We are still looking for that perfect home for Butterscotch.  Our dear girl has come so far and deserves a home she can call her own.   Love and consistency have turned her Life from turmoil and suffering to one of Trusting.   If you think you can supply unconditional love and understanding to a dog that gave up on Life a long time ago, please, fill out her Adoption Application.   Butterscotch is a young dog that will give you a Lifetime of Love in return.
