I am happy to report that sweet Caleb can keep his food down. I am not sure if this will continue since we are dealing with a constricted area in his esophagus. Our hope is that the stretching that was done with the surgical device opened up the area enough so it will now scar down any further. We have ordered another device in hopes we will never have to use it.
Caleb is back at the hospital where he had been for the last three months. Everyone knows him there, and they are very familiar with his temperament. We have not had any further outbursts from him, and he has been allowing people to feed him without issues. That doesn't mean that he loves all people and is now a changed dog. It means we do our best to control his environment, so he does not get agitated and only allow people around him that know his hot buttons and how to prevent them. Caleb is a sweet dog when he trusts you and is comfortable with you. Our hope is that a strong handler will step up to adopt him and give him the chance he needs to have a home all his own. What someone did to him is unforgivable. Dogs love interacting with humanity until someone comes into their lives and does everything possible to destroy that bond and trust. We are doing everything possible to overcome what he has endured. We DO NOT give up on animals ever.
If you are a strong handler and love the Bully Breed, please consider welcoming this big boy into your home. We will always be there financially to cover all of his medical and food for his Lifetime. Drop us a note at [email protected] if you are interested in the Love of this big boy. When he loves you, he does it all the way. His heart is waiting for that special person he can call his own.
Caleb's medical bills are through the roof. It seems like every bad thing medically that could have gone wrong has happened to dear Caleb. He has spent the last four months in critical care for one reason or another, and we still never give up on him. Take the medical costs on top of his quirky personality and you have a long-term problem. We are not going to give up on Caleb. As long as he can keep food down and not have any new regurging, we are moving forward with his Care.
