Our sweet DAZZY is finally out of ICU and out of the oxygen chamber. Her lungs still have to get clearer but that is just going to take time. She will be coughing up secretions from her lungs for several weeks. The antibiotic she is on is finally working and allowing her to breathe so much better.
When the Vet. Techs. were taking Dazzy outside to go to the bathroom, she started having what they thought was going to be a seizure. It turned out to be a Vestibular Event which comes from the inner ear. Her head begins to tilt at an irregular angle and her legs become very stiff. She will also fall over at times. The events only last a minute and then she goes back to being her normal loving sweet self. The Phenobarbital keeps her seizures under control but there is nothing we can do for the inner ear problem. We have done a battery of scans and tests and they have all come back normal. It is just part of what makes Dazzy Special. She is normal in every other way and loves to play with other dogs and curl up in your lap and shower you with kisses. Dazzy needs a special family that understands what to do when this happens. We pick her up and love on her when the event is over so she knows we will always be there for her. If you think you have a special place in your heart to love and nurture this amazing little dog, please, fill out her Adoption Application. She so deserves a home she can call her own and will shower you with unconditional love in return.
Thanks for caring about sweet Dazzy and being a part of her Journey to survive.
