Sweet Dozer had so much to look forward to. We had a wonderful home for him and were finishing up his rehab so he could walk with his new cart when he suddenly became ill. He did not want to eat or get up to use the bathroom. We rushed him to CVRC where he was transferred to Carolina Veterinary Specialists to see Dr. Bob Bergman. Dr. Bergman does a lot of our major Neurological cases and is the one we wanted to work with Dozer. Dozer is scheduled for an MRI in the early afternoon. We will have to wait to see what the MRI shows and the others tests to determine the best course of action to get him well. Right now, he will have to remain in ICU in the Neurology Area.
Our dear boy has worked so hard over the last month with his underwater treadmill exercises. Everyone loves working with him. Dr. Neely North at Berwick Animal Hospital has been his main Doctor for the past several months. Dozer gets laser therapy along with acupuncture almost daily. He loves getting his treatments outside while he lounges in the sun. He is one spoiled Mastiff that relishes all of the attention he gets. One of our Volunteers takes him for rehab in Savannah to do the underwater treadmill. He then gets buffed with a towel and goes back to be pampered more with everyone at Berwick. The next month we were focusing on building up his strength so he could go to his new home in Alabama. Right now, his adoption will be put off until we can determine what is wrong. We love Dozer and have looked after him for several years to get him well. Right now, we are all very upset seeing him so sick. Please, keep Dozer in your prayers and do whatever you can to help us with his medical bills.
