Chesterfield, SC.....This sweet 12 week old little Shepherd Puppy was dropped off at the outdoor shelter in Chesterfield by someone that said he had been attacked by another dog. While another rescue was picking up dogs they had agreed to take from the shelter, the person saw this sweet little dog laying there with injuries to his back legs. He was unable to walk without being in terrible pain. Seeing he would never get out and would die there, she grabbed him and then later called us to see if we could help him since they were not able to take care of any of his surgical needs. He is underweight, consumed with fleas, has every parasite you could have for a puppy this age and worst of all, his back legs are broken in SIX places. The thing he doesn’t have is even one dog bite. Someone intentionally did this to this sweet little puppy. These injuries did not happen from a dog fight and it doesn’t appear (based on his injuries) that it happened from being hit by a car. His skin is not broken in any place from being hit with a hard object and there are no bruises from mass trauma to a central location. It appears someone broke his legs with their hands. We cannot come up with any other way this could have happened without seeing other visible signs of trauma to his body. He has been sent to the surgical specialist where he underwent four surgeries to put this little guy back together. Both legs have been plated and repaired to give this loving boy a chance at walking again. These are very expensive operations but we had no choice but to do them if he was going to have any chance at a normal life. He is just the sweetest little boy that curls up into your neck and NEVER complains. With all he has been through, he has never done anything but whimper and that is when he is trying to walk. It is as if he decided after he was injured that if this is how life is going to be well I am just going to make the best of it. There is no way we could have put him down once we saw his tragic x-rays and the loving SPIRIT of this sweet, sweet little pup. Please, give as much as you can and forward to as many people as you can to help us cover his costs so we can help more ABUSED animals like DUDLEY.
Sweet Dudley is doing pretty good. He is still not using both of his back legs but that is to be expected after all that he has been through. He was with a foster for several days and is back at the surgical facility to make sure he is where he needs to be. We just love this sweet Angel. Dudley is doing good for all he has gone through. He is in foster care while he recovers from his surgery. He is beginning to use both of his back legs and we have finally gotten him comfortable. He is going to make someone the best family pet. He is the sweetest little pup.
