ELVIS is a sweet 5-7 year old male pomeranian that was picked up as a stray and brought to Dekalb County Animal Control.  He is covered with infected puncture marks all over his abdomen. We believe he was attacked by another dog.  He is skinny and very anemic.  It appears he has been on his own for a little while or the person that was supposed to be looking out for him, wasn’t.  He is a beautiful dog.  Since no one stepped up for him, he was scheduled to be euthanized because of his injuries.  We were contacted and decided he did not deserve to be put down.  He is at the vet being treated now.  We had to put drains in to allow the infection to drain out of his system.  Because he is so anemic and is loaded with parasites, we are prepared to give him a transfusion if his blood count does not improve over the next few days. He is a really great dog.  How someone could allow this to happen to such a little sweet little guy is always a mystery to us.

Elvis has had his drains removed and is now dealing with kennel cough.  He will be in quarantine for another week before he can be moved to another area.  He is doing great.  His infection is under control and his bites are healing nicely.  He is a sweet boy.  The vet has determined that he is between 5 & 7 years old, not 2. 

Elvis is finally getting over his kennel cough and his bite are healing fine.  He does not have an infection anymore.  This wonderful little dog will soon be ready for his new home.
