SAVANNAH, GA....Fancy Pants is a lovely 12 week old Australian Shepherd that was hit by a car. The people that found her originally said they found her this way and then later indicated she was their dog. Fancy Pants was not microchipped, and the Family that brought her in did not want her. Lots of people were contacted to help this adorable pup, but no one wanted to help because of her injuries. The surgery was too expensive for anyone to take on. She has a right femur fracture and a fracture of his left tibia-fibula. Her pelvis is fractured along with her sacroiliac (SI) joint. She is a sweet Humpity-Dumpity that needs to be put back together.
Once we got Fancy Pants stable we did her surgery. Her many procedures were long and extensive. Plates were put on the fractures to stabilize her legs. We are hoping cage rest will allow her pelvis to heal without surgery but only time will tell. As of this morning, she is comfortable and resting. She will have six weeks of restricted exercise before any extensive Rehab can begin. The only thing she can have now is passive range of motion.
Fancy Pants is the sweetest pup you will ever meet. She loves everyone and never complains. How anyone could spend good money on a beautiful puppy and then not spend the money required when they get injured is something I will never understand. It is better to go to the shelter and ADOPT an adorable puppy that is a mixture of everything and save your money for accidents. Accidents happen all the time when it comes to animals, especially puppies. Use the money you saved to Microchip them so they can come back to you. The thing that gets me more upset than anything is when an accident happens and the Owners act like the puppy, or dog is not theirs. Why would anyone not claim their dog or puppy? It makes no sense. This puppy counted on you to be his Family and keep him safe. By not coming clean with the truth, you will NEVER get the dog back. If you explain your situation, you probably will be surprised at how much help you WILL get.
Sweet Fancy Pants is part of the Noah's Arks Rescue Family and always will be. Even after she is adopted, the first name on her Microchip information will always be us. The second name is for the new Family. We want to make sure that under all situations, our dogs have a home to come back to. We will send someone to pick up one of our pups no matter where they end up. We are their Family and always will be.
This adorable pup is going to be magnificent once she has healed. If you think she is adorable now, just wait until she grows up. We also want to remind anyone interested in adopting her that Australian Shepherds are active dogs that have a lot of energy. She also needs lots of room to run around. They are incredible dogs that have an amazing personality.
Fancy Pants Surgery was very expensive because of all the breaks and the plates that had to be out in. Please, DONATE toward her Medical Bills so we can help more dogs like this beautiful girl. Thanks for caring and helping us with her Medical Bills.
