JASPER, AL......Sweet Fiona is a 12 week old Toy Fox Terrier Mix that was abandoned on the side of the road. A good Samaritan picked her up and brought her to Animal Control. She was then rescued by a Rescue Group in the area. It soon became very apparent this adorable little puppy had more problems going on than the Rescue could financially handle. We were sent all of her information and decided her only chance to ever walk again was with us.
I can't believe I am saying those words again. That seems to be my mantra lately for the sad cases we have recently had. All of the pups lately have had a genetic anomaly that is either preventing them from walking or eating. They have each stolen our hearts for the Life they could have had. We are still in shock over losing adorable Bindi that could not eat because of a PRAA that keep food from going down. Sweet Lamb Chop with Hydrocephalus that could not walk because of fluid on her brain. Adorable Cricket the could not eat because of a PRAA that had to be surgically removed so she could eat. The list goes on and on. What do you do? Do you turn your back and say NO or do you decide that saving an animal from a life of torment and suffering because of their disabilities is enough to step up and save them from that horrible future. We need your help to keep saving these incredible pups. We cannot do this along. If the funds do not come in, I get my answer that these pups are not ones our Donors think we should be helping. That information is very valuable to me because it tells me I am on my own with these cases. I deal with information and facts daily. Hard choices have to be made when the phone calls and e-mails come in by the thousands asking for help every single day. Out of those e-mails, sweet Fiona made the list. We are it for her.
Sweet Fiona has congenital elbow dislocations. She does not have elbows. She will never be able to walk upright without surgery. The surgery is complicated, and there are no guarantees. Surgery is her only chance at walking. We are going to give her that chance. If you don't agree with this decision, that is okay. We deeply respect people's choices. PLEASE, Do Not send me an e-mail explaining why it is wrong to give Fiona her ONLY shot at walking. That is our choice and one we have made. Fiona will probably have to have several more surgeries before the process will be complete. We will be with her all along the way to make sure she has whatever she needs to walk again. If you agree with our decision and want to support her, please DONATE. If you can't donate at this time, we understand and appreciate all the times you have. Forward to your animal loving friends and maybe they can.
The core of Noah's Arks Rescue is all about helping critical care animals in need. We have the most amazing Donors and followers that follow us from all over the WORLD. It takes a Village of like-minded individuals to make change happen in this World. Thanks for being there for us and the animals we choose to save. Every animal deserves that chance. I just wish we could save them all.
