Sweet Fulton is slowing learning to trust again. The beating he endured almost broke this wonderful little dog. His wounds are healing nicely and beginning to granulate in. The worst wound was his ear flap that had to be removed. We think it gives him personality, but he doesn't agree with us. Fulton lost a lot of blood after his attack and is still anemic. His values are continuing to come up, and should be leveled out by the time he is placed in his new home.
The biggest problem our dear boy has right now is learning to trust again. We are now having to focus most of our attention on healing his broken Spirit. We can't even imagine how scared and horrified he was when he was attacked. There is also no new information on the terrible person that did this to him. Fulton is learning to trust and will now allow us to scratch his chin without cowering. Small dogs always put up such a big front of being so brave and courageous, when deep inside they are scared and feel helpless because of their size a lot of the time. We have made a lot of progress since we first rescued dear Fulton. Only time in the arms of his new Family is going to allow him to learn to trust again and finally relax.
We have lots of great applications for Fulton and are in the process of deciding which Family would be best for him considering his special circumstances surrounding trust.
Thanks for caring about this amazing little dog and being part of his Journey to heal his broken Spirit and wounded body. He can live without an ear flap but to fully enjoy Life, he has to learn to trust so he can relax and soak up all the LOVE we have for him.
