Sweet Hennessy did great with her second TPLO (tibial-plateau-leveling osteotomy) Surgery. She had lots of swelling at the beginning, but it has slowly come down. She is able to use both legs comfortably and is probably more comfortable right after this procedure than she was before we began the process of doing surgery on both legs. I don't think people realize how painful leg injuries are for dogs. We each see them smiling and wanting to play even though they are in a lot of pain. Most times, by the time the animal has stopped playing, the injury has gone on for several months and surgery is required instead of cage rest and rehab.
Hennessy is a sweet, sweet pup that is in our Training Program to get her used to being in a home and not tied up outside. She loves playing but is on restricted exercise until her legs have healed. Once her incision site has healed, she will get Physical Therapy in an Under Water Treadmill to restore her muscle mass in a controlled environment. Hennessy will not have any restrictions once her Rehab is complete. She will get to run and play to her heart's content.
We are way behind for Donations to cover Hennessy's two TPLO Surgeries. Doing one leg is costly enough but doing two is way over the top. The problem is that doing one leg would not have helped Hennessy at all. Please, consider donating toward this sweet pup. Hennessy is just as deserving of getting the Medical Care needed for her to heal and walk free of pain as all of the dogs we rescue.
We will also, be looking for a wonderful home for this young girl. She will be in training to work on her manners and learn to walk on a leash until her new home is found. Look at her beautiful face. How could you not love a dog that loves Life the way Hennessy does and is always Smiling. Thanks for caring.
