This sweet little pup was brought to Greenville County Animal Control as a stray.  She is so sick that it was hard to tell what she is at first and I don’t mean what kind of dog, I mean is she a dog.  She is a 4 month old puppy that has a horrific case of demodex that has been going on for so long that her body is literally in shock trying to fight off the itching, inflammation and infections she has.  She is one big infection.  The fact she is alive, is amazing all by itself. She is a sweet loving pup. She has obviously had this since she was a baby. Her immune system is very compromised because it is spending all of it’s energy and reserve to try and fight this and it doesn’t have the ability.  Once the infection sets in, animals begin to itch and start to scratch.  The scratching causes bleeding which causes the infection to get into the blood stream.  If you have this long enough your whole body becomes septic and you die.  JENDAR has the infection in her skin and her blood stream.  She now has three major problems, demodex, skin infections and an infection throughout her body. Not to mention all of the parasites she has. She has a long recovery ahead to get her immune system back and heal her skin.  We think she is a dachshund mix but we really do not know.  What we do know is that she is sweet and loving and needs emergency medical care now.

JENDAR is named after two wonderful Animal Advocates that live in NY and help a lot of animals all over.  Today is their birthday and we named her after them...Jennifer and Darren.

JENDAR is doing great since we picked her up.  She is feeling so much better that she is finally able to get some much needed sleep.  We still do not know exactly what kind of dog she is but still think she has dachshund in her.

This energetic little girl is doing incredible.  Look at the difference two weeks has made with this wonderful little puppy.  She is so happy that she just runs all over the place with excitement.  We adore this sweet girl.

Jendar is doing wonderful.  She has regained all of her weight and her hair is coming in nicely. Her skin is not sore and red anymore and she is a lot more comfortable. She is definitely a Dachshund mix.  What she is mixed with, we do not have a clue.  What we do know is that she is an energetic ball of love.  She gets along with everyone and loves other dogs.  If she could she would play all day long.  She is a sweetheart.
