Good-Morning Sunshine. Look at our sweet Lamb Chop go. She can take a few steps without leaning on us, but she then falls over. Her coordination has improved greatly. This little Angel was so happy to be taken outside to walk that the Vet. Techs could barely hold her back. Her only speed was fast and faster. Once they finally got her settled down, she was able to walk for a while without her legs crossing in the front.
Since she is improving a little each week, the Neurologist has decided not to adjust her shunt for the next two weeks until she plateaus. Too much adjustment can cause her to have a seizure, and we Do Not want that to happen. Because of her age and how long it is taking us to build up her muscles and coordination, we believe she has never learned how to walk. The fluid on her brain probably happened right after she was born. That fluid caused the part of the brain that controls walking to not function normally and her muscles to atrophy. We have to do a lot more rehab than we ever dreamed we would have to do to get her upright and mobile. Lamb Chop is still at the Surgical Facility in Charleston with her Neurologists and the wonderful Vet. Techs. At some point and time, she will have to go to her new home, and they will have to do her Rehab there. If you want Lamb Chop to remain where she for a little longer, please, donate toward her expensive Rehab Cost. We want her to stay there, but there is only so much we can do since this is a work in progress situation. Your Donations can keep her there for a little longer. As you can see from the pictures and Videos, she has improved a lot. One thing is certain; this little Lamb is being spoiled rotten. Everyone loves and adores her. Thanks for caring and being part of her Journey to Walk.
