Sweet Lamb Chop is back in the ER. She started to go backwards in her recovery and we decided it was time to do a thorough work-up with her Physical Therapist and Neurologists. While in the Hospital, she started showing signs of having seizure activity. We immediately had her transferred to her Neurologist, Dr. Jason King in Savannah, GA. For the last week, he has been doing lots of tests to determine if she was having a seizure or if her pressure had changed in her brain from her shunt.
Today, she was sedated and with the help of the Codman Rep that made the shunt, her pressure was adjusted. This is a temporary solution to see if this makes any difference in her demeanour. Our sweet girl has had a rough time of it over the last nine months. She has been able to take a few steps on her own but then completely falls over. She does much better in her cart but is still not where we thought she would be since we put the original shunt in. We are talking to a lot of Specialists to come up with a plan that will give her a better quality of Life. Right now, we think we will have to replace the shunt completely.
Our heart breaks for this adorable little girl. She has come so far but still has a long way to go before we are comfortable that we have done everything possible to give her the best possible outcome. We have also ordered a new cart for her since she has grown so much over the last four months. Lamb Chop will have to remain with her Neurologist in the ER until we feel confident we have a plan in place to get her comfortable. What looks like a seizure could also be pressure building up that is causing her to have a terrible headache. She is a very Special Needs pup and we can't risk missing something that could cost her, her Life.
We haven't posted or asked for funds for Lamb Chop in a very long time. We now need for everyone to Donate as much or as little as you can so we can get her better. We don't care if she ever walks normally. We do care about her Quality of Life. Something has changed over the past four weeks and we have to figure out what it is so we can get her well. We are not going to turn our back on her. We are here for the long-haul. She is a fighter and we are going to fight with her and for her.
Thanks for caring and making her Journey possible. We greatly appreciate you unwavering Love and Support.
