These girls were seized by Animal Control in Marion County, SC when they got a call about a dead dog on a chain.  Imagine their surprise when they went out and the dog was still alive - along with others at the same location!  The owner went to jail for a brief period of time saying she had been in the hospital for three days and this happened while she was there.  Both are heartworm positive but have overcome emaciation and mange and amazingly they have  survived without internal organ damage. They are both improving and doing much better.  We are picking up all of the medical bills for the two and then they will be going to another rescue that has foster homes waiting for them so they can do a slow HW treatment on both while they get their immune system back to where they are healthy again and can be adopted.

Laverne & Shirley are doing great.  They have been medically treated and fattened up a lot without any organ failure damage.  They will not be treated for heartworms until they have fully recovered from the starvation.  They are sweet, wonderful dogs that so deserve a loving home.  They are still in Marion County where they are being treated and loved on all the time.  We are in the process of finding a home or rescue where they can go to further their rehabilitation.

These two great dogs are thriving.  They have put a lot of weight on and their fur is growing back.  they are really doing wonderful now that they are being loved on.  We are still looking for a great place for them to go now that they are doing so well medically.  Please, contact us if you can give either one of them a great home.  They get along wonderful with other dogs.
