Poor Lenny still has a long way to go with his healing.  Some of his wounds have gotten infected because the areas are so big and open.  He gets bandage changes all throughout the day.  Each time the bandages are changed, the wounds  debrided to get rid of the dead tissue and encourage new tissue to granulate in.  The areas that do not granulate, we will  do skin grafts or surgical skin cuts across an area of healthy skin to encourage it to spread across the bad area.   Cultures have been sent off to determine what is the best antibiotic to use for the bacteria he is growing.   

​Lenny's spirits are up and down.  There are days he is up and excited and other days that he is down and not sure what the next day will bring.   One thing is for sure, he is a sweet loving boy that cherishes all of the love and affection he is getting.    The longer we have him, the more confident he gets that tomorrow is going to be as good as today is.   Time is all he needs to heal his broken heart and his wounds.   Dogs don't hold onto the past.  They move forward and live life day to day.    Eventually their past is just that, a distant memory replaced with new memories of unconditional love and lots of hugs and kisses.  He will soon realize that and his bad days will be over.    

Lenny still needs lots of medical care and surgery, please help us with his ongoing medical bills and rehab.   Lenny deserves to get the best possible care and love we can give him.  His new Life is going to be one of unconditional love and hopefully a new Family that will cherish him as much as we do.
