All of Lillian's lab work and cultures are back, so I can now give everyone a thorough update on this wonderful Older Gal. Lillian's Lung culture came back that she has a Staph Resistant Bacteria growing. We have come up with several different antibiotics for her that she will be getting. She will have to remain in the hospital during this time and will be going home with one of the Vets during the night to make sure she does not have any further complications. Her cough is now just a mild annoyance for her and is controlled with her medicine. The major hernia surgery we did was a huge success, and all of the organs that were once out of her body in the two big pouches between her legs are back in her abdominal cavity. Sweet Lillian seems to be enjoying her ability to walk normally again. She now has a little pep in her step and has a lot more energy than she did when she first arrived. Lillian will be on the antibiotic for four weeks. She can then be adopted into a loving home.
We have only gotten one application for Lillian that is far away from South Carolina. Because of her age, we would prefer one much closer so we can keep a watchful eye on her given how sick she has been. If you love older dogs, then you will LOVE Lillian. Her days are spent napping in your lap, cuddling at night and sitting in front of a window looking outside. We love this amazing pup and want only the best for her. Drop us a note, if you think she might be right for your household. You will thank us for every day she has left that is spent in your arms.
