LILY BETH

I keep hoping I am going to have wonderful news on sweet Lily Beth but, unfortunately, she is still very sick.   Her Life right now swing can swing in either direction.  She is still very much in the worst part of her Parvo Cycle.   In four days, she will be on the other side of her halfway point and will be improving, or she would have lost her battle.   I look every day for lots of positives and am reminded every hour what a delicate balancing act Parvo is.   We are still in the balancing area of keeping her lungs clear and keeping fluids in.   She still has bloody diarrhea and is throwing up.   The NG feeding tube has be put in and taken out so many times that I have now lost count.    The positives are that they are not having to suction out as much mucous as they were yesterday, and I think she is a little bit brighter.   She can sit up and take a little water on her own but only briefly.

Lily Beth has us all very worried.   All Parvo pups do that to you.   It breaks our hearts because we feel so utterly helpless.   Our little Angel is getting 24 hour, round the clock care in isolation.   She has someone with her all the time to make sure we do not miss anything if she starts to crash, become lethargic or develops pneumonia.   Her blood and urine values are still pretty good for a pup this sick.    She is on lots of antibiotics to counteract any infection that could come up during this time.  By the time she would show signs of the infection, it would be too late for her, so we are staying ahead of this.

The best news is that our dear girl is still alive and fighting.  If we can get her through the next four days, I feel like she will make it.   Please, DONATE toward her care.   For some reason, we are not getting a lot of donations for Lily Beth.    She deserves the same medical care we would give any of our dogs or she needs a lot more of it.   A lot of people are not donating because they are not sure if she will make it.   If we do nothing, she will not make it.   We have to continue the course we are on, and she has to remain in ICU.     We know it is expensive, but that is her only chance.   Please, give her the same chance we give all our pups and help us fight for her.   Please, DONATE.

I also wanted to point out that the shelter that had Lily Beth vaccinated her when she arrived.  They are not the ones at fault.  The lack of vaccination is on the shoulders of the people that dumped her in a box with several other pups without any vaccinations.   By the time the Shelter had vaccinated her, she already had the virus in her system.   None of the other pups have been sick from the parvovirus.  Only dear Lily Beth.   Please, keep her in your Prayers.  She needs all the prayers she can get to pull through this.
