Sweet Nemo is coming along nicely.  His ear is healing beautifully and his stitches have all been removed.  Unfortunately, this week-end he had to go to the ER because of a terrible rash and infection that broke out under his neck and on his chest.  We have him on special creams and a different antibiotic.  We think it was a allergic reaction to his e-collar that he had to wear to prevent him from rubbing on his ear incision.  It has started to settle down but we now have to get rid of the infection he has.  We have switched his antibiotics to reflect his new culture and feel confident this will resolve over the next week.  Nemo’s pneumonia is almost all gone.  He has not regurgitated since he had surgery last.  The medicine he is on for his regurgitation is enabling him to heal his esophagus.  In about a month we will be weening him off his meds to find out if his regurgitation is a chronic condition he will have to live with or if it was something he ingested that caused the inflammation that set him up for all of his discomfort.  Only time will tell.  He does not have a Mega-Esophagus and food is going down fine.  He has gained some of his weight back but still has more weight to gain.  Nemo is a sweetheart to everyone he meets and is a delight to love and care for.
