Beautiful OLIVER has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. His cancer became too debilitating for him, and he was having trouble breathing and eating. Once that began, we knew his Quality of Life was not what we wanted, and it was time to say Good-Bye. To say that Oliver was Happy and Loved is an understatement. He was one of the happiest dogs that completely immersed in his new Life. How loved chasing a ball, playing in the water and going to the Park. Every day was filled with a new adventure that he embraced with pure Joy and Excitement.
Will King, our trainer, and his dog Hazzard spoiled Oliver rotten and allowed him to live out his final days living with them. We never know how long an animal will be with us after we rescue them. What we do know is that our top priority is Quality of Life for them. When an animal is suffering, and there is nothing we can do, it is time to throw them a Party and ease their suffering. Their last day is always sad but joyful. We honor each animal and shower them with unconditional love. Whatever they want to eat that day, they get. Oliver wanted pure junk food of french fries and hotdogs which he gladly gobbled up. He played catch with his favorite ball and then took a nap and peacefully crossed over.
Oliver will forever be missed and loved. He is now in charge of looking after each of us. When you look up in the sky tonight, look for a big star chasing a small one. That will be Oliver chasing his favorite ball. Thanks for caring and making his Journey to Heal and find Love, possible. Our only regret is that we did not find you sooner to love you longer.
