Pete is a 3 year old Pekingese that was picked up down a dirt road in Santee, SC by a dear rescue friend.  He was covered in dirt and oil and had some major injuries.  My friend first thought Pete had been attacked by another dog because he was so hurt all over.  It was later determined that someone had poured hot cooking oil all over this sweet, sweet dog.  Pete is at our vet being treated for his terrible burns and also for heartworms and lots of other parasites. He is high heartworm positive.  We are hopeful we can get his skin to recover as well as we did Anabelle.  It takes time and lots of bandage changes every day to make sure an infection does not set in.  One thing is for certain, he is being loved and pampered all day long.  We just keep thinking he had to have belonged to someone that trained him because he is so well mannered.  How anyone could do something so horrible to an animal is beyond me.  We are supposed to be their Guardians.  They count on us to love and protect them and in return we get their unconditional love.

Pete is doing great great.  His skin is healing beautifully.  He will be going to his foster home this week.  If you are interested in this wonderful little boy, please fill out our adoption application and let us know to expect it.
