GREENVILLE, SC.....PICKENS is a two year old sweet male Tabby cat that was brought into the shelter with his femur sticking out of his leg. For six weeks he was seen like this while individuals tried to trap him. He was finally trapped and brought to Greenville County Animal Control. The problem once he was bought in was that if no one stepped up for him, he was going to be PTS. The shelter fell in love with this incredible cat. He has a femur bone sticking out of his leg and just kept on meowing like nothing was wrong. Look at his incredible demeanor above. No one stepped up for him and as busy as we are with dog abuse cases we could not go to sleep knowing he would not make it another day without us saying yes. It appears PICKENS was hit by a car. He is at the vet, having surgery today. His leg will have to be removed because the injury is so old. When we finally got him sedated we discovered he has a large hernia in his abdomen that we will also be taking care of. Animals are amazing creatures that can endure pain and suffering and still be okay with life and be happy.
Pickens is doing great since his surgery. He is getting around without any problems. He is still as sweet as can be.
