This beautiful blue merle 1 year old great dane was brought into the Emergency Clinic in Greenville, SC after being hit by a car.  He has a broken humerus that is swelling up so badly because the injury has not been repaired yet.  We stepped in because he was going to be euthanized for lack of money.  We see great potential in this big boy and want to help him have his surgery so he can live a long healthy life.

Rocky had his surgery today.  He is pretty miserable right now.  As the swelling goes down so will the pain.  He is on lots of pain medication to keep the pain under control.  Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day or him.  As soon as he is able to walk around on his leg the sooner the swelling will start to go down.  He is a beautiful animal that is so loving and sweet.  We will be glad when he gets on the good side of this.  Hang in there Rocky...tomorrow will be abetter day.  The worst is over.

Rocky is still pretty miserable.  His leg is really swollen and that is preventing him from putting any weight on it.  Hopefully tomorrow will be a better for him.

Today is the first day he has started to put a little weight on his leg.  He still has lots of swelling but it has started to go down.  Progress is what we want with this big beautiful boy and we are finally seeing it.

This sweet boy is finally feeling much better and putting weight on his leg.  His leg is still swollen but not nearly as much.

Rocky has gone to his wonderful new home and is healing beautifully since his surgery.  The swelling continues to go down as he is moving that leg more and more.  He is feeling so good that he wants to play with his new dane sibling.  As you can see, this is one happy boy.  Way to go Rocky.....you sure were an unhappy boy for a while.
