RUSTY is making improvements. Physically, Rusty's hip is healing. He is gaining his muscle back and becoming stronger with each new day. Sadly, Rusty's main obstacles are not from his surgery. They are from his lack of socializing.
Poor RUSTY is afraid of his own shadow. We decided to send Rusty to our Trainer in NC. Daily socializing and learning to trust in a strange environment will only push him through some of his anxiety. Thus, making him a more confident dog. We have to go slow with Rusty. He's a smart boy, but too much stress can send him going backward again quickly. He is such a beautiful boy who deserves to be a happy, healthy Shepherd.
Rusty has made small break throughs with his NAR family and his new Trainer. He's inquisitive. He likes other dogs. He has a very sweet disposition.
Rusty deserves a loving family to call his own. Although we will not place Rusty until he is ready, he is searching for the perfect Forever Family. If you feel, you are right for this amazing boy. Please fill out our Adoption Application online to be considered.
