SAVANNAH, GA…..Last week we were contacted about a three month old Spaniel puppy that was living with homeless people under the bridge.   We were told the person that had the puppy had given Savannah tobacco to rid her of parasites.  She was now very sick and despondent and would not eat.  They also thought her jaw was now locked for some reason.  The homeless person agreed to hand her over to us so we could save her life.

We got SAVANNAH and immediately had her taken to the vet.  Her bloodwork showed she was very anemic.  She was also loaded with parasites and was refusing to eat.  She has spent the week-end in the hospital on fluids and being force fed.   We were not sure if she was going to make it or not.  The doctor's have not had any issues with her jaw being locked.   She is now slowly beginning to eat and is feeling much better.   This poor little pup would not have made it out from under the bridge if we had not stepped in.  She was getting worse by the day and the people also did not have any food to feed her.   We are closely monitoring all of her bloodwork to make sure whatever they gave her is moving out of her system.

Savannah is an adorable Spaniel Mix that apparently they got off of Craig's List.  We understand the unconditional love people have when it comes to their animals.  They usually go without food so their dogs can get the care they need.  The best this person could do when Savannah got sick was to reach out for help.  If she hadn't done that, Savannah would not be here right now.   We have let the person know that called us about Savannah that she is doing well and that her phone call saved her Life.

Our sweet little Angel is still getting medical care.  She has developed a little cough over the week-end and is still in quarantine.  The good news is that she is coming around and beginning to feel so much better.  She has apparently become quite the barker when she wants attention.   She is slowly taking food on her own and is not looking so despondent.  Savannah will make a wonderful companion for someone special.
